Svetlana Zahkarenko (better known as Lana Wood) was born shortly after 2nd world war ended - Mar 1st, '46. She's been an actress all her life (since she was a baby) and assisted and produced few films. Her parents moved from Russia to the Promised Land, making Lana an American Russian born in Santa Monica, CA. While she was still a toddler she got in front of the cameras, in Driftwood ('47) but part never made it to the screen. When she was ten, she made appearance in The Searches, and this started off her career.

For the first few years, every movie her sibling Natalie Wood appeared in, Lana had a little part. It is only at the beginning of the new decade that she got recognized for her own acting abilities, changed her last name to match Natalie's and went off to star in Peytons Place for a year bringing her popularity. Few years later, Playboy offered her a lucrative deal that Lana couldn't refuse - she was in the pages of the magazine in the early '70s.

While her parents and sister weren't really impressed by this, it actually got her into James Bond's Diamonds Are Forever - another role she was made famous for. The list of the movies Lana Wood appeared in is over 60 and that doesn't include 3 movies that she produced and assisted in production. While she temporarily stepped away from the acting world (for approx 15 years), she actually has 5 movies coming out this and next year.

On a personal front, after her sister passed away, Lana made her sister's biography on screen. She's currently alone even though she's been in the partnership till death do us part 5 times. Born in California, she still resides there. She finds happiness in looking after her daughter's kids - all 3 of them.
